Rhema Inspiration
Purified and Ignited by Fire
“Once the Word of God
ignites a fire within you, the fire must be
maintained and added to daily.”
The desire of the Holy Spirit is
to use the Word of God to purify, mature, and equip
Christians. It has been ordained of God that, in the
Church, ministers preach and teach truth that equips,
and disciples study truth to show themselves approved,
resulting in a Church that is purified and ignited by
fire.
Many ministers and Christians have
failed to hold up their end of being true to
God’s Word. Many preachers do not preach truth,
and many Christians do not study truth. These two
problems, coupled together, have released so much
wrong, false, watered down, and incomplete teaching of
the Word of truth in the Church that, presently, many
believers are unable to mature in Christ. Many
Christians are sitting under the teaching of ministers
who are themselves immature, carnal, or false. This
prevalent immaturity is evident in the lack of the
fruit and power of the Spirit in the Church. The Church
needs restoration!
So much of what is ministered in
the modern Church keeps Christians focused on self (their
blessing, their prosperity, their destiny).
If you will pay close attention to what many ministers
are ministering, you will discern that their message is
geared to keeping the people focused on receiving a
blessing—the fleshly meaning of a
blessing—rather than on forsaking all to follow
Christ. The Church is being kept in a selfish infant
state by her ministers, ministers who want you in their
pews, putting money in their plates (pockets), and
being dependent on them for your spiritual support.
The Church is in desperate need of
restoration. There is coming a time when large numbers
of Christians will be restored, but it will begin with
individual disciples being restored by being purified
and ignited by the fire of God’s Word of truth.
These individuals will serve as witnesses, not only to
the lost, but to the Church. They will be light bearers
for the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word of truth.
A major part of the Church being
restored will require that she really knows truth. Two
problems that we have addressed have solutions. First,
find a minister who preaches truth—all of it.
Second, you must become a student of the Word—all
of it. The fire will soon be lit and begin to burn
within you. Once the Word of God ignites a fire within
you, the fire must be maintained and added to daily. As
a natural fire must be continually fed to keep it from
dying out, so the spiritual fire within you must be fed
by daily study of the Word of God. It must include
studying the whole Bible over a period of time on a
regular basis. If you search, you will find some good
plans for reading the Bible through in a year.
Are you a candidate for being a
light bearer? There is a cost! Restoration begins with
you; it begins with you forsaking all to follow Christ.
Forsaking all includes forsaking much of what has bound
up the modern Church. It will require focusing on God
and others rather than on self, so that you can follow
Christ. Are you ready to break free and pay the cost to
follow Christ in truth?
If you are doing these
things—sitting under the teaching of a true and
mature Jesus Christ-sent minister (Eph. 4:11) and
studying the Word regularly, consistently, and
thoroughly—the Word of truth will not only burn
away dross and purify you, it will burn deep inside of
you like fire shut up in your bones, and you will truly
be a light bearer for the Lord Jesus Christ.
