The Preacher’s Message

“The heart of the Word of God is the good news of Jesus Christ
and His kingdom.”

True and mature preachers of God preach the Word of God (2 Tim. 4:2). The heart of the Word of God is the good news of Jesus Christ and His kingdom. The ministry of the Apostle Paul is summed up twice in the last chapter of the book of Acts. Paul preached and taught the kingdom of God and the things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 28:23, 31).

If you are a preacher and the good news of Jesus and the kingdom of God is not the heart of your message, then you are missing the mark. You are not equipping the saints for the work of the ministry! You will be held accountable at the judgment seat of Christ.

If you are a Christian and your minister is not preaching the good news of Jesus Christ and His kingdom, then you are not being equipped to do the work of the ministry. You might be a deacon, teacher, choir member, or youth leader in your local church; you may be very active in ministries provided by your local church, but you are ill equipped.

Preachers, wake up! The Lord Jesus Christ has placed you in a position to care for His people. You are to have Christ formed within you, and you are to have His message written in your mind and on your heart. You are to feed the body of Christ the Word of God and not the word of your denomination or group, unless your denomination and group is ministering the truth of Jesus and His kingdom. If you get the message right about Jesus and His kingdom, the rest of the Word of truth will line up accordingly. The Church will move from carnality to holiness! The Church will move from immaturity to  maturity! The Church will move from division and disunity to the unity of faith!

Judgment begins at the house of God, the Church, and God wants us to judge ourselves by His truth so that He will not have to judge us. At the house of God, judgment should begin with the preachers. Preachers should quickly begin to judge themselves by the truth of the Word of God. They should minister truth to the people who listen to them so that they can judge themselves and align their lives with the truth of God and His Word.

Truth sanctifies! Preachers, set yourself apart to God by being sanctified by the Word of God. Preachers, preach truth to those whom God has trusted you with so that they will be set apart to God. Let’s get our message right; let’s equip the saints for the work of the ministry. Praise be to God!

BIBLICAL APPLICATION:
23They arranged to meet Paul on a certain day, and came in even larger numbers to the place where he was staying. From morning till evening he explained and declared to them the kingdom of God and tried to convince them about Jesus from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets. 31Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.
Acts 28:23, 31 NIV
