FALSE AND TRUE CHRISTIANS
“A devoted disciple of Jesus
Christ is one who has denied self, forsaken all,
and taken up their cross to follow
Jesus.”
Do you know the difference in
false and true Christians? Do you know the difference
in a false Christian, a cultural Christian, a
traditional Christian, a carnal Christian, an immature
Christian, and a devoted disciple? If not, it is
important that you learn the difference! Knowing the
difference can mean the difference in heaven and hell
for you and those you influence. Knowing the difference
can make the difference in being at the judgment seat
of Christ rather than at the Great White Throne
Judgment. Knowing the difference can help one decide
whether they will rejoice or weep at the judgment seat
of Christ.
Why do I mention heaven and hell
in this context? Regardless of a growing and popular
teaching that all people will end up spending eternity
with God, there will unfortunately be people who spend
eternity separated from God. It is true that God is
love and it is not His will that anyone should perish,
but it is also true that one must be prepared if they
are to spend eternity with God. There are many people
who call themselves Christians who are not presently
prepared to spend eternity with God. From the groups
listed above, which ones are prepared and which ones
are not prepared? Are you prepared? Which group or
groups do you fit into? Which group or groups do you
want to fit into?
If you are reading this, you still
have time to make a choice and choose a group. It may
be that you do not fully understand how to define the
different groups. It is my intention to help clarify
the meaning of each group beginning in this message and
continuing in future messages. I also encourage you to
contact us and request a tape of last Sunday’s
message titled “Born Again To Be
Disciples.”
From the groups listed above, it
should be quickly obvious that one specific group is
not prepared. I am sure that most people will quickly
recognize that false Christians are not prepared. False
Christians are not true Christians, and their
destination is hell unless they wake up and repent.
Most, if not all, false Christians know that they are
false, but they may not know that their destination is
hell. True Christians must sound the alarm to those who
are headed in the direction of hell.
There are one or two other groups
listed above that are also not prepared to spend
eternity with God. There are several groups listed
above who are not ready to rejoice at the judgment seat
of Christ. I encourage each of you to study and learn
the meaning of each group.
There is one group that is
prepared to spend eternity with God and also to rejoice
at the judgment seat of Christ. That group, of course,
is the devoted disciples group. I encourage everyone to
seek for help in understanding and becoming a devoted
disciple of Jesus Christ. What is a devoted disciple of
Jesus Christ? A devoted disciple of Jesus Christ is one
who has denied self, forsaken all, and taken up their
cross to follow Jesus (Luke 9:23, 14:27, 33).
Let’s fall on our knees in
prayer! Let’s open the Word of God! Let’s
seek God and become a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ.
Then, let’s obey Him, and go into the entire
world as a witness making devoted disciples unto Him.

BIBLICAL APPLICATION:
"Not everyone who says to me,
'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but
only he who does the will of my Father who is in
heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord,
did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name
drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I
will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from
me, you evildoers!'”
