WHOLLY DEVOTED TO FOLLOWING JESUS
CHRIST
“The division in the body of
Christ has opened the door for the spread of
evil.”
Wholly following Christ means not
only wholly following the person of Christ, but also
wholly following the written Word of truth. It is not
uncommon for Christians to try to separate following
Jesus from obeying the written Word, but the truth is
that to follow Jesus is to obey His written truth. When
Christians begin to wholly follow Jesus and His written
truth, the body of Christ will begin to become one with
God and with each other in actuality. The Church will
then shine as a bright light for Christ Jesus, and
there will be a great and victorious harvest of souls.
I am thankful for the many who
profess to believe in Jesus Christ, but I am at the
same time grieved over the division of the Church.
Since man started his denominations and
non-denominations there have been differences over the
written Word. There have also been differences over the
Holy Spirit. Now the differences have grown to where
there are major differences over Jesus Christ. The
division in the body of Christ has opened the door for
the spread of evil. Foolish Christians try to stop evil
by playing politics! Have you finally had your eyes
opened to the truth that no political party is of the
kingdom of God? No, most have not learned! It is
easier, more self satisfying, more self fulfilling to
get publicly involved in getting people out to vote
than praying, fasting, and seeking God in private. Most
Christians have tried everything, everything but
repenting, becoming humble, seeking God, and uniting in
faith to wholly follow the Lord Jesus.
It seems that the division in the
body of Christ over Jesus, His truth, and His way of
doing things does not grieve the hearts of many
Christians. Why is this? Many Christians consciously or
subconsciously discount others as not really being
Christians, and/or they are so focused on themselves
and their group that they pay little, if any, attention
to other groups. They think they have the corner on
truth and all is well. Some Christian groups see the
need to minister to the lost, but do not see the need
to unify and work together in the harvest field. I do
not mean working together in pseudo unity and fleshly
ecumenical activities. They do not yet see that true
success in the harvest field requires the unity of
faith in the body of Christ. They are so proud and
inwardly focused that they do not see that the work of
Jesus Christ requires humility and cooperation in the
one body of Christ that is made up of believing Jews
and Gentiles. (We just stirred up some in parts of
Texas.)
The unity of faith, becoming of
one mind and accord, seems impossible to the minds of
many Christians. With man, it is impossible, but with
God, it will become a reality. It will begin when you
individually believe it can be a reality. It will begin
when you decide to become a disciple who is wholly
devoted to following Jesus Christ. It will begin when
you repent of your inward focus and begin to see as
Jesus sees. Will you humble yourself and repent of the
selfishness and stubbornness that has prevented the
body of Christ from becoming united in faith and being
wholly devoted to following Jesus Christ? Will you
become a disciple who is wholly devoted to following
Christ, and will you look outside yourself and your
group to find and unite with others of the same spirit?
Thanks to God who will give us the victory in Christ
when we do!
