TRIED BY FIRE - Part III
“The Holy Spirit, through
His prophets and other called ministers,
is trying
to wake up the body of Christ.”
It is important to note and
remember that the judgment seat of Christ is for
believers. It is a time ordained by God to reward His
children for their faithfulness to Him and His Word
during their time on earth. It should be a time of joy
and rejoicing for all Christians, and it will be for
those who faithfully forsook all to follow the Lord
during their life on earth. But, for some, there will
be weeping mixed with their rejoicing. They will
rejoice that forever they will be with the Lord and His
family, but they will also weep because they will miss
out on being recognized and rewarded for their faithful
service to the Lord while on earth.
Some readers may be tempted to say
that it does not matter about personal rewards. They
just want to get to heaven, even if it is by the skin
of their teeth. Others may think or speak about all the
services they attend and the programs and activities
they are involved in. Some may even have these
responses at the judgment seat, but then they will have
their eyes opened to realize that some people are not
at the judgment seat because their “skin of the
teeth” witness to them was not sufficient enough
to draw them to Christ. Their eyes will be opened to
realize that many of the busy things they were involved
in missed the mark in seeking first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness.
The Holy Spirit, through His
prophets and other called ministers, is trying to wake
up the body of Christ. Will you hear? Will you respond?
Many people can remember that they failed as a witness
to someone who left this life without making a
commitment to Jesus Christ. Yes, only God really knows
their condition at their time of dying, but you know
whether are not your life was a real witness for God.
Isn’t it wonderful that God forgives?
Wouldn’t it also be wonderful to make a
commitment to the Lord that, from now on, you will
serve Him and be a living witness to others? You will
rejoice at the Day, not only for receiving your
rewards, but for the glory your life brought to Christ
and the salvation your witness of Christ brought to
others.

BIBLICAL APPLICATION:
So we make it our goal to please
him, whether we are at home in the body or away from
it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of
Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for
the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.
Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we
try to persuade men. What we are is plain to God, and I
hope it is also plain to your conscience.
