The Need for Prophets
“There is need for prophets
who will point the way out of
darkness and
confusion.”
In a dream, I heard that I was to
write about the need for prophets, real and mature
prophets. Although many have been taught otherwise, God
still has prophets. God still sends prophets. There is
a great need for God-called and God-trained prophets to
speak God’s truth to the Church and to the world.
The Church is in need of
restoration; she is not prepared for the marriage of
the Lamb. She is not fulfilling her work to be salt and
light to the world and to witness the gospel of the
kingdom to all nations. The world is floundering in its
sin; it is moving every day closer to catastrophic
judgments. The Church, rather than being a unified and
holy witness to the world, is all too often acting like
the world.
There are many sinners who have
been lulled to sleep by the tunes and vices of the
world. They need to wake up and receive salvation from
the Lord. They need their spirits to be born again and
their minds to be renewed. There are many Christians
who have also been trapped by the things of the world,
but there are many more Christians who have been
captured by religious doctrines, activities, and
traditions. They also need their minds to be renewed.
There is a need for prophets who will speak to the
world and to the Church. There is need for prophets who
will point the way out of darkness and confusion. There
is need for prophets who will point the way to
salvation and restoration.
What will you do when God sends a
prophet to you? Will you listen to the messenger from
God, or will you stone him, as it were? Will you humble
yourself and willingly receive his words of correction
and direction, or will you ignore and/or laugh him to
scorn?
Every day the need grows greater
and the time grows shorter. Will you hear the cry of
the Spirit for repentance? If you have not received the
Lord Jesus as Savior and Lord, will you humble yourself
and follow Him? If you are a Christian, will you wake
up and cast off the bonds of modern Christianity? Will
you forsake all to follow Jesus? Will you ask the
Spirit of Christ to make you fully aware of the need
for restoration? Will you give your full interest,
attention, concern, and commitment to restoring the
Church, advancing God’s kingdom, ministering
salvation to the lost, and defeating evil? Will you
help prepare the bride for the Lamb? Will you help
prepare the way for the return of the Lord? God is
sending His prophets to call you to do just that.

This week, pray that God-called
and God-trained prophets will speak truth to the Church
and to the world. Pray that the Church will have ears
to hear when the prophets speak.
