Disciples are Followers of Jesus
the Christ
“It is time to let Jesus be
Lord of what we believe and teach and not anyone else,
including any man, church, denomination, or
group.”
Last week’s message taught
that Jesus Christ is looking for faithful disciples.
Today, we learn that disciples are followers of Jesus
the Christ. I am intentionally writing that Jesus is
the Christ because that is and was His identity. He is
the Christ, the Messiah; there is no other Christ, and
there will be no other Messiah. He is also the head of
His Church; there is one Church, and there will be no
other Church. To be part of His Church, one must be
born again. This includes Jews and Gentiles. There may
be some future fulfillment of promises made to the
people who are natural Jews, but the New Covenant is
for all people of the past, present, and future, and
there will be no other covenant. It is as simple as
that, and it is biblical. It is time for Jewish people
and all other people, including Muslims, Hindus,
Buddhists, and Atheists, to hear the good news of Jesus
Christ and His kingdom and to, by faith, become
faithful disciples who are followers of Jesus the
Christ. People are dying daily, both Jews and Gentiles,
who are not hearing the truth of the gospel and are not
seeing a Church that is united in truth. God forgive
us!
There is much discussion and
debate in the body of Christ about things such as
“dispensational theology” and
“replacement theology.” The truth is that
man has come up with each of these ideologies. Man has
taken biblical subjects and given his interpretation;
the Bible calls it adding to and taking away. These and
other such things not only draw the attention of
Christians away from what is clear and concise in the
Word, but also serve to divide Christians rather than
unite them to follow Christ. Any time man’s
opinions, ideas, and interpretations are involved in
the Church, confusion and division are not far away!
Quit listening to man, church, or denomination telling
you what to believe without checking it out in the Word
under the direction of the Holy Spirit of Christ. Too
much is at stake! It is time to identify all private
interpretations and traditions of men and to repent of
and forsake them. We must now begin to allow the Holy
Spirit to focus us on clear, concise, and pure truth.
The time is short! Forget anything that is not pure
truth, and understand that the Holy Spirit is here to
lead you into all truth.
The Bible makes it clear and
concise that Jesus Christ is, has been, and will always
be the only Way to salvation, the only Way to
reconciliation with the Father. It makes it clear that
Jesus Christ has one body, and it includes all who will
enter in by faith in Him, whether they were born Jew or
Gentile. Both Jews and Gentiles can be born again only
by believing in Jesus the Christ. That is the gospel
truth, and that is what true disciples are to go
throughout the world preaching and teaching to both
Jews and Gentiles. It is time to let Jesus be Lord of
what we believe and teach and not anyone else,
including any man, church, denomination, or group.
Jesus loves His Church; I love His Church, but it is
time for her to repent of preaching and teaching her
various interpretations, ideas, and opinions that have
caused us to be divided and weak. We must humble
ourselves, seek God and His pure truth, and become
united salt and light to the world, rather than a
divided laughingstock. Submit to the Holy Spirit.
Listen to Him. Unite in faith, and follow Jesus the
Christ.
In this spirit and attitude, hear
the following: One can be a member of the present-day
Christian Church without being born again. One can be
born again without being Spirit filled. One can be born
again and Spirit filled without being a follower of
Christ in truth and purity. One cannot be a disciple
without following Jesus Christ because true disciples
are true followers of Jesus. I am looking for followers
of Jesus, be they Jew or Gentile.
Many preachers in the present-day
Church are looking for members and their money. They
will say, do, and provide all kinds of programs and
activities to get what they are looking for. They are
looking for people to follow and support them in what
they teach, and in material ways. I am not looking for
Church members; I am looking for followers of Jesus the
Christ. I am not looking for members who will bring
more members; I am looking for faithful disciples of
Jesus Christ who will make more disciples for Jesus
Christ.
Are you a faithful disciple who is
following Christ? Do you want to be a faithful follower
of Jesus the Christ? If so, I encourage you to seek Him
with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Grow
to knowing Him intimately, and pray always in the
Spirit and with your learned languages. Study His Word,
all of His Word, on a regular basis free from
man’s interpretations. Free yourself from the
man-made doctrines and traditions that have put most
Christians under bondage. Be bold, be courageous, and
break free from the bonds of the world and the bonds in
the Church that have captivated so many present-day
Christians. Submit to the Holy Spirit and cry out to
Him to give you truth that will set you free to follow
Christ. Cry out to Him to give the Church truth that
will set her free to be the Church that Jesus envisions
and looks for.
There is coming a revival. There
is going to be restoration, revival, and awakening that
will not burn out. Forget the junk you have been
taught—that things will only get worse—and
become a follower of Christ who burns brighter and
brighter until His appearing. There will be a falling
away, but there will be a drawing near. Become part of
His restored and revived Church. Become a part of
bringing restoration and revival to the present-day
Church. Join with faithful disciples who bring great
awakening to the lost. There are many good people who
are doing good things, but they have bought into a
mentality promoted by their particular church that
hinders them from really believing that things can
change for the glory of Christ, so they do very little
that will make a real difference. They have been taught
that there can be no real unity of faith, so they
don’t try. There can be unity of faith, but there
will not be until you break free from man-influenced
Church to be a follower of Jesus the Christ and Him
only. Jesus is still saying, “Come, follow
Me.” The restored Church will do just that! Jesus
is returning for a united, victorious, and glorious
Church. The Holy Spirit is forming such a Church. Come
follow the Holy Spirit from glory to glory as He trains
followers of Jesus the Christ.
