Rhema Inspiration
The Holy Spirit is our ultimate
Teacher of Scripture, but He uses the study of
Scripture to bring insight about Scripture. Scripture
never contradicts Scripture, but always helps interpret
and understand it.
Many sincere born again and/or
Spirit filled Christians do not fully allow the Holy
Spirit to instruct them and do not always interpret
Scripture by Scripture. All too often, they are too
strongly influenced in how they view Scripture by the
church, group, or denomination they have chosen to be a
part of. They do not search the Scriptures in depth to
see if their group is correct. They may study the
Scriptures, but most often it is done through the
filters of their group. This usually results in making
Scripture say what their group believes it says. It
also has resulted in the body of Christ being divided
into many separate parts.
Those who have been guilty of the
above try to cover it over by talking about diversity,
agreeing to disagree, and by being a part of some
man-made ecumenical group. It soothes the soul
and relieves the conscience, but never brings biblical
unity of faith.
The Holy Spirit is looking for
disciples, including ministers, who will break free of
any man-made part of modern Christianity and will give
their lives to following Christ, which presently
includes helping to restore the Church and bring forth
a unified body of Christ. There will be a Church in the
unity of faith! In some cases, ministers and church
members will stay in their group and work to bring the
necessary changes. In other cases, they will have to
experience some painful separation. The separation will
often be forced because the structure will resist,
strongly resist, change and the change makers. They
will often boot their formerly prized and beloved
ministers and members. I wish it was not so, but it
will happen to many if they seek godly change to bring
godly restoration.
The Bible says that families will
separate over Jesus. The same principle applies to
church families. There have been numerous family and
church divisions, but few if any have been for the
right reasons, so please do not relate what I am saying
to any of those. Look back at the biblical Church and
see how they were forced out of the existing wineskins,
but understand that your pain may bring their eventual
restoration. The cross involves separation and
suffering to bring truth to others.

BIBLICAL APPLICATION:
For we did not follow cunningly
devised fables when we made known to you the power and
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses
of His majesty. For He received from God the Father
honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the
Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom
I am well pleased.” And we heard this voice which
came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy
mountain. And so we have the prophetic word confirmed,
which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a
dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star
rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no
prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,
for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy
men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
