Rhema Inspiration
I encourage any disciple who
desires to mature in Christ to become very familiar
with Hebrews 5:12 through 6:2. Hebrews 5:14 teaches
that one sign of maturity in a disciple is being able
to discern good and evil. The spiritual senses of
mature disciples are keen to be able to distinguish
between truth and error, as well as to discern true and
false ministers. They also have learned what should be
done if they discern evil. (It is for another message,
but they have also learned what to do if they discern
good.)
The main point I want to emphasize
today is the necessity of learning to do the right
thing when one discerns error and false ministers
within the Church. Some Christians have learned to
recognize when there are some things that are not what
they should be, but they are not quite sure of what
they should do, especially if most of the congregation
does not seem to be concerned. If anything is done, it
is usually not enough and/or is not the correct thing.
There seem to be so many factors involved that, in the
end result, no real change ever takes place for the
good, and the devil’s little leaven just keeps on
working.
Today, I mainly want to strike a
cord and get your attention. I will say, however, that
a thorough study of the Word and prayerful communion
with the Lord Jesus will reveal that these are no small
things. Jesus had zeal for the temple, and He has zeal
for His Church. Who has had their senses made sensitive
enough to know that we need to pursue and follow
through with this matter?

For everyone who partakes only of
milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he
is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of
full age, that is, those who by reason of use have
their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
