Rhema Inspiration
"And the power of the Lord
was present for Him to heal the sick" (Luke 5:17
NIV). The power of the Lord was with Jesus while on
earth to heal the sick because the Holy Spirit had come
upon Him to anoint and equip Him for His ministry on
earth. The Lord ministered to the whole
person—spirit, soul and body—while on
earth.
It is the Lord's desire that His
body continue His work on earth until His return. The
Lord is building a Church that will come to the place
of saying with the Lord, “The Spirit of the Lord
is upon us, because He has anointed us to
…” (Luke 4:18). His Church will mature to a
place where she unites and ministers to the whole
person in a way that hasn't yet been done. There has
been a Church since the day of Pentecost in each
generation, but as of yet there has not been a Church
that has fulfilled and/or maintained all that Jesus
desires. The Church is made up of all who have ever
received Jesus as Savior and Lord, but Jesus is looking
for a Church that will grow to maturity and demonstrate
such biblical truths as Ephesians 4:11-16.
Many are saying that this could be
the generation that sees the Coming of the Lord. Isn't
the thought of that exciting? I would also like to say
that this could be the generation that produces a
Church that has Christ formed within, is unified in
faith, and fulfills all that Jesus envisions in the
book of Ephesians and other parts of the Word. The
restored Church will return to Jesus and His pattern
found for the Church He is building. The pattern has
always been in the Word of God. The Lord is raising up
mature ministers who have been trained by His Spirit
and tried in the fire who will lead the Church out of
the wilderness of all the things that man has tried to
add to her. They will restore the truth that man has
also tried to take away from her. Can you see it? Can
you believe it? What an exciting opportunity for our
generation! Let's get on course; let's unite and work
together in the harvest fields. They are so white for
harvest! If the Lord doesn't come before we fulfill His
vision for His Church, we will shout,
“Hallelujah!” and pass the baton to the
next generation. Praise the Lord!

BIBLICAL APPLICATION:
It was he who gave some to be
apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists,
and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's
people for works of service, so that the body of Christ
may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith
and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become
mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness
of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed
back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there
by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and
craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead,
speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow
up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him
the whole body, joined and held together by every
supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in
love, as each part does its work. Ephesians 4:11-16 NIV
